I loved that cockpit detail, the engine with its trolley that is a kit in itself and the open ammo covers! Growing up in Sweden, Monogram kits were hard to come by and fairly expensive but sometimes I got lucky and found one. The dream-kit B-17 and B-24 were however far out of economical reach then - and nowadays I would never find the time to go through such an involved build. I did however build the P-38 (which is older but still fairly nice) "in the spirit of Monogram" (that means no rescribing or other modern tricks of the trade) and still ended up with a very nice model that is no winner but still attracts interest!
